Cogent DataHub™ Use Case
A large European gas production and transport company is using DataHub technology to collect and redistribute data for monitoring and controlling pumps, valves, consumption control units, cranes, and other equipment for thousands of kilometers of pipeline.
Installed in control rooms at regular intervals along the length of the system, each DataHub instance is connected to a number of remote terminal units (RTUs) that bring in data and pass commands to valves, pumps, sensors and other equipment for that section of pipe. In the control room, data from the DataHub instance powers a SCADA system and user HMI modules, a data historian and database, spreadsheets, and even teletext machines.
