MQTT Product Selection Guide
Cogent DataHub software offers two MQTT options: MQTT Client and Smart MQTT Broker.
MQTT Client
The MQTT Client feature is typically used to connect plant data to a cloud service that has an MQTT broker.
- The DataHub IoT Gateway (IOTGAT) license pack enables the DataHub core features, one MQTT client connection to one MQTT broker, and unlimited OPC UA, DA, and Tunnel/Mirror connections.
To connect to additional MQTT brokers, one MQTT Client Link (MQCLNK) license is required for each connection.
Smart MQTT Broker
The DataHub Smart MQTT Broker allows you to aggregate, standardize, and securely transmit your MQTT and Sparkplug data.
- The DataHub Smart Broker (DHMQB) license pack enables the DataHub core features and one MQTT client connection.
To connect additional MQTT clients, one MQTT Broker Link (MQBLNK) license is required for each connection.
- The MQTT Client (ADDMQC) add-on license allows any licensed DataHub instance to connect to one MQTT broker.
To connect to more MQTT brokers, one MQTT Client Link (MQCLNK) license is required for each additional connection.
- The MQTT Broker (ADDMQB) add-on license enables a licensed DataHub instance to act as a Smart MQTT Broker for one MQTT client.
To connect additional MQTT clients, one MQTT Broker Link (MQBLNK) license is required for each connection.
