DataHub Use Case
A major system integrator in Europe needed to implement a secure, real-time data connection from a power generating plant to the power company’s corporate offices. Management wanted to monitor performance to ensure the efficiency and optimal use of the equipment, but at the same time maintain the highest possible security of the data.
DataHub software was used to establish a secure data tunnel between the OPC DA server connected to the plant equipment and the OPC DA client in the corporate office. The data was securely transmitted between firewalls over SSL-encrypted TCP connection. The data from the plant is being mirrored in real time on the corporate system, allowing the company to perform the system monitoring they needed. The system has been running 24/7 since installation, with minimal need for intervention.
