To install the Cogent DataHub program as a Windows service, follow these steps.
Start up the DataHub program. (Select the program using the Windows menu, or double click the desktop icon.)
Configure the DataHub Security and Remote Config options as described in Preparation for Remote Config section of this book. You will need the Remote Config program to access and configure your DataHub instance while it is running as a service.
Test the Remote Config program by following the steps for Configuring a Local DataHub Instance.
When you are sure that the Remote Config program is working properly, exit the
DataHub instance. (Right-click the DataHub icon
in the system tray, and select
from the pop-up menu.)
Use the Service Manager to install the DataHub software as a Windows service. You should be able to configure it using the Remote Config program.
